The transportation of passengers by rail between Ukraine and the European Union in 2019 increased by 14.9% compared to 2018, up to 947,000 passengers.

In particular, over 482,000 passengers traveled between Kyiv and Przemysl (Poland) last year, using trains No. 715/716 and No. 705/706, the Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) said.

Other popular trains are No. 67/68 Kyiv – Poland's Warsaw – Kyiv, which was used by 61,000 passengers, No. 35/36 Odesa – Przemysl – Odesa (59,000 passengers) and No. 31/32 Kyiv – Latvia's Riga (24,000 passengers).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the transportation of passengers by rail between Ukraine and the EU member states increased by 1.8 times in 2018 from 2017, 676,000 passengers.
