Government backs legalization of timber and scrap metal from Chernobyl area

"Abuse and corruption that take place in the [Chornobyl Exclusion] zone regarding sales of timber and scrap metal is another [problem] issue. Interior Minister is working on this issue, and the best way to fight corruption in the zone is a maximum legalization of all operations that correspond to the law and environmental standards," Yatsenyuk said during his visit to the Exclusion Zone.

According to the prime minister, a draft law will be submitted for consideration of parliament on sales of timber and metal scrap from the Exclusion Zone.
