"The overall negative contribution of the two regions [Donetsk and Luhansk] made up 40.6% of the total export decline rate," the ministry's statement reads.
At the same time, the ministry underlined that the EU had been and remained a key trading partner of Ukraine, with the country's exports to the EU accounting for 34% of the total volume. While exports to Russia stood at a mere 12.7% of the total exports.
Major trading partners of Ukraine include Turkey (with the share of exports being 7.2%), China (6.6%), Egypt (5.4%), India (3.7%), Belarus (2.3%), Saudi Arabia (2.1%), Kazakhstan (1.9%), and Israel (1.6%).
Shipments of food and other agricultural products (worth $13 billion), metallurgy ($8.8 billion) and machinery ($4.1 billion) made up most of the country's exports.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine posted a surplus of the balance of payments in January-November 2015 at $566 million against a deficit of $11.046 billion during the same period in 2014.
