"We are doing our utmost to prevent the spread of the disease in Kyiv and Ukraine. Airports are the gateway to our country and one of the first filters to prevent [the entry of] infected people. The termination of flights with countries where the epidemic is spreading today is required to minimize the likelihood of a coronavirus outbreak both in Kyiv and across the country," he wrote on Facebook on March 13.
