Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 118 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 118 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including nine healthcare workers. There were two fatalities," he said on Telegram on July 4.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 5,465.

According to Klitschko, 56 women aged 20 to 75 and 52 men aged 29 to 82 are among those infected. In addition, six girls (from four to 15 years old) and four boys (from two to nine years old) tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 19 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

Thirty-seven people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 1,770 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Dniprovsky district (21), Shevchenkivsky district (17), and Holosiyivsky district (16).

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 47,677 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 4. They include 1,227 deaths and 21,155 recoveries. Some 914 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
