Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 57 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 57 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including six healthcare workers," he said on Telegram on June 30.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 5,037.

According to Klitschko, 24 women aged 18 to 72 and 32 men aged 20 to 67 are among those infected. In addition, an eight-year-old boy tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 14 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

Eleven people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 1,563 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Dniprovsky district (21), Shevchenkivsky district (16), and Desniansky district (10).

As UNIAN reported earlier, as of 09:00 Kyiv time on June 30, there were 44,334 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine. They included 1,159 deaths and 19,115 recoveries. Some 706 new cases were recorded in the past day.
