Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 77 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 77 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus," he said on Telegram on July 20.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 6,961.

According to Klitschko, 36 women aged 18 to 82 and 38 men aged 18 to 76 are among those infected. In addition, three girls (three, seven, and 12 years old) tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 15 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

Twenty-one people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 2,387 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (18), Desniansky district (10), as well as Sviatoshynsky and Solomyansky districts (nine each).

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 59,493 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 20. They include 1,498 deaths and 31,439 recoveries. Some 651 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
