Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city rose by 82 in the past day.

"In the past day, the number of Kyiv residents who tested positive for the coronavirus increased by 82, including 14 healthcare workers. There were four fatalities," he said during an online press conference on June 5, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 3,292.

Klitschko said 16 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsia district (21), Podilsky district (13), and Desniansky district (12).

Twenty-seven people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 876 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 25,964 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on June 5, including 762 COVID-19 deaths and 11,372 recoveries. Some 553 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
