Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 83 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 83 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including 14 healthcare workers. There were two fatalities," he said on Telegram on June 6.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 3,375.

According to Klitschko, 41 women aged 19 to 79 and 38 men aged 18 to 82 are among those infected. In addition, one girl (10 years old) and three boys (aged eight, 10, and 13) tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 25 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Solomyansky district (19), Desniansky district (17), as well as Darnytsia and Dniprovsky districts (10 each).

Twelve people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 888 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 26,514 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on June 6, including 777 COVID-19 deaths and 11,812 recoveries. Some 550 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
