Kyiv mayor reports 125 new COVID-19 cases in past day / Photo from UNIAN

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 125 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 125 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus. There were two fatalities," he said on Facebook on July 11.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 6,115.

According to Klitschko, 57 women and 61 men among those infected. In addition, seven children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said eight new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

In total, 2,058 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (36), Shevchenkivsky district (18), as well as Sviatoshynsky and Holosiyivsky districts (14 each).

The total death toll in the city was 124 cases.

As UNIAN reported earlier, some 800 new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 were reported in Ukraine in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 52,843 as of the morning of July 11.
