Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 158 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 158 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including four healthcare workers. There was one fatality," he said during an online briefing on August 14. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 10,160."

According to Klitschko, 81 women and 72 men are among those infected.

In addition, five children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 28 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

Thirty-eight people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 3,316 Kyiv residents have already recovered from the disease.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (37), Obolonsky and Solomyansky district (23 each), and Dniprovsky district (22).

The total death toll in the city is 150 cases.
