Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko considers a surgical strike by the international coalition against the Assad regime's chemical weapons facilities in Syria a forced yet justifiable step.

"We are considering a surgical strike by the international coalition against the objects of the military chemical infrastructure of the Assad regime as a compelled yet justified step," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
"This is a fair answer to the fact of committing a brutal crime against humanity – a chemical attack in Douma on April 7, which took the lives of dozens of innocent people," he added.
Ukraine calls for the use of all possible mechanisms and instruments of the UN, including the Security Council, to prevent such crimes of dictatorial regimes in the future, the head of state emphasized.
