Hungary has changed the title of its "Zakarpattia envoy" – the name that sparked harsh resistance on the part of Ukraine.

The relevant decision was published in the official gazette of the Ministry of Justice of Hungary on Monday, October 29, Europeiska Pravda reported.

On Monday, Budapest officially renamed István Grezsa's post for an "authorized minister responsible for the development of cooperation between Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and Zakarpattia region, as well as coordination of the program of children's educational institutions of the Carpathian region."

That is, the name of the position is not about the development of a single region anymore, but rather about cooperation between the two neighboring border regions. Hungary has actually returned the position's name which existed until this year's spring.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó at a recent New York meeting had assured that Hungary would change the name of their "Zakarpattia envoy" post.
