Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov says Ukraine is preparing sanctions against masterminds behind the so-called "elections" in the "Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics" ("LPR/DPR") and Ukrainian enterprises that cooperate with the Russian defense industry.

"The NSDC is drafting a new package of sanctions, while the Cabinet and the SBU security service are preparing proposals. The Verkhovna Rada has already submitted its proposals. And I am convinced this will be a powerful package of diverse sanctions, including against those who led, inspired and organized the fake so-called 'elections' in the occupied territory, as well as against a wide range of Ukrainian enterprises cooperating with Russia's defense industry and strengthening their security and defense," Turchynov said while visiting the Kyiv Armored Plant on Thursday, Nov 15, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

Turchynov does not rule out that the list will include individuals from certain EU states, who "for provocative reasons pretended that they were observing fake illegal elections in the occupied territory."

At the same time, he stressed it is not only at the battlefield where Ukraine repels Russian aggression.

"Of course, this is also about the technology of sanctions, technology of limiting any support for the Russian industry, not only their defense industry," Turchynov said.
