In addition, under decree No. 142/2019 of April 12, First Deputy Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Dmytro Butriy has been appointed acting head.

"To temporarily assign the duties of the chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration to Dmytro Stefanovych Butriy," the decree says.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Andriy Gordeev on April 6 handed in his resignation.

Later, Deputy Chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration Yevhen Ryshchuk also tendered his resignation.

Activists demanded that President Poroshenko dismiss Gordeev, his deputy Ryshchuk and Chairman of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger because of their alleged involvement in organizing the assassination of Kherson activist Kateryna Handziuk.

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko later said that investigators had not found evidence of their involvement except for Manger's.
