Ukrainian President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has awarded President of the European Council Donald Tusk with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise.

"I'm proud to present the highest state award of Ukraine – the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise – to a great friend of Ukraine, European Council President Donald Tusk. Mr. President, we sincerely thank you for the deep understanding and reliable support of Ukraine and Ukrainians on our common way to return to a single family of European nations, and upholding our sovereignty and territorial integrity," he wrote on Facebook on May 13.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Poroshenko awarded the "Hero of Ukraine" title, the highest national title that can be conferred upon an individual citizen by the President of Ukraine, to Chief of Ukraine's SBU Security Service Vasyl Hrytsak. The president also awarded him with the Golden Star Order.
