Zelensky's new decision on reshuffling / REUTERS

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has fired chief of the main investigation department of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine Hryhoriy Ostafiychuk.

Respective presidential order No. 341/2019 was posted on the president's website on May 31.

"To dismiss Hryhoriy Volodymyrovych Ostafiychuk from the office of the head of the main investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine," the document says.

Major General Ostafiychuk, 48, has held the post since June 2015 after appointment by the then President Petro Poroshenko.

From May 2007 to March 2011, he was deputy prosecutor general of Kyiv. In 2008, he opened a criminal case against the then Interior Minister, Yuriy Lutsenko, who now heads the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, on charges of inflicting light bodily injuries to the then mayor of Kyiv, Leonid Chernovetsky, in a brawl after a National Security and Defense Council meeting.
