Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk says the prospects for the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin are realistic.

In his opinion, though, "nobody believes they will meet and solve all problems at once," LB.ua reports.

"But hostages and prisoners of war should be freed, and, as experience has shown, this does not work out through external influence. We will try new mechanisms," Danyliuk said.

The official does not rule out that talks between Kyiv and Moscow are profitable for the latter, "because there are internal processes ongoing there, while the impact of sanctions is real."
