The relevant decision was taken at the CEC meeting, according to the Department of Media Relations of the Commission Secretariat.

The grounds for the decision was a letter from the SBU Security Service of Ukraine that Kuzmin had been absent in Ukraine since 2014. Thus, Kuzmin did not keep up the legal requirement to reside on the territory of Ukraine in the past five years before election day, which is the ground for canceling his registration.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the CEC overturned its previous decision to register video blogger Anatoliy Sharij and fugitive ex-president Viktor Yanukovych's ally Andriy Kliuyev as candidates running for parliament in Ukraine.
