Poroshenko: Peacekeepers not seen as alternative to OSCE mission in Donbas
The president stresses that peacekeepers' task is to make setbacks in the peace process impossible.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says that a peacekeeping mission which Ukraine wants to deploy in Donbas isn't an alternative to an OSCE monitoring mission there.
"Peacekeepers cannot be an alternative to OSCE. Each of them has their own functions. Peacekeepers' task is to make setbacks in the peace process impossible," the president wrote on Twitter on April 22.
Миротворці не є альтернативою ОБСЄ. Кожен з них має свої функції. Завдання миротворців – унеможливити відхід від мирних домовленостей— Петро Порошенко (@poroshenko) 22 Квітень 2015
On Wednesday, April 22, the Ukrainian president was on a visit to France, UNIAN reported earlier.
