Brussels reporter for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak has said the European Union may ease sanctions against Russia if there is some progress in the Normandy talks.

"I understand that the EU's economic sanctions against Russia most probably will be prolonged in Dec but if there is some progress in the Normandy talks, some 'lesser' sanctions like the re-start of regular EU-Russia summits (suspended since 2014) might happen," he wrote on Twitter on October 8, 2019.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said all the conditions for the summit of the Normandy Four leaders had been met and its date was being agreed.
