Poroshenko: National security strategy must ensure opportunity of NATO membership
Ukraine's national security strategy should ensure the opportunity of NATO membership in future.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced this at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on Wednesday.
"Our [national security] strategy must ensure the opportunity of NATO membership in the future. We must finally return this important component to the given document," he said.
According to him, it is made to receive effective guarantees of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"Cooperation with NATO and commitment to the common security and defense policy of the EU the main idea of this document," he said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Security and Defense Council on Wednesday adopted Ukraine's national security strategy designed until 2020.
