German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier says that all parties to the Donbas conflict should observe the truce in eastern Ukraine so that the ad hoc subgroups of the Trilateral Contact Group consisting of representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the OSCE for the Minsk Implementation Plan could make progress.

"The meetings of all the four ad hoc subgroups will begin next Tuesday, June 2, and I'm sure that progress could be achieved there, and the progress will be achieved if the activity of these groups isn't called in question," Steinmeier said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

"And the truce needs to be observed to ensure their [the groups'] work," he stressed.
