German Chancellor Angela Merkel has invited newly appointed Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to Berlin.
"Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel has congratulated newly appointed Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, assured [of] 'her support for him personally and his Government' & invited to Berlin," Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk said on Twitter on March 6.
"Ukraine appreciates [the] strong support of Germany!" he added.
The German Chancellor was among the world's first leaders who congratulated the Ukrainian premier on the appointment.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Shmyhal was appointed by Ukraine's parliament on March 4, 2020.
