Local election bill passed in first reading

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada has passed draft law No. 2831-3 in first reading to allow the participation of political parties and blocs in a local election.

The bill was supported by 271 out of the 337 MPs registered in the session hall on Thursday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

The lawmakers also voted for a shortened procedure of the finalization of this bill for a second reading.
