The UN is pursuing two main goals, according to Walker, the first is this is to secure the humanitarian needs of all citizens. And the second - to give people their jobs back. UN Secretary-General asked Walker to come to Donbas and work in these two directions, the UN representative said during a meeting with the head of Donetsk regional military civil administration Pavlo Zhebrivksy.

He also reported on drafting a program for the restoration of Donbas. According to Neal Walker, the project will include assistance in rebuilding damaged infrastructure, developing social services and creating jobs.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the humanitarian mission of the United Nations presented a plan to help 3.2 million people affected by the hostilities in the east of Ukraine, providing a $316 million aid package.
