Poroshenko hopes G7 summit to show unity with Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects that the upcoming G7 summit will display the unity of the civilized world in support of Ukraine, according to an UNIAN correspondent.


"It is very important that this meeting is held on the eve of the G7 summit. We hope that the Sicilian meeting will demonstrate the unity of the civilized world in support of Ukraine," Poroshenko said at a joint press conference with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, held in the residence of the German Federal Government, Schloss Meseberg, in the town of Gransee, Brandenburg.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Italy would host this year's summit in the Sicilian town of Taormina on May 26-27.
