OSCE envoy: Trilateral Contact Group discusses special status of occupied Donbas
Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk for the settlement of the situation in Donbas Martin Sajdik says that the TCG's political subgroup discussed measures to ensure the special status of the so-called certain areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to the Belarusian telegraph agency BELTA.
"After the summer break and the start of the new school year, I see the Trilateral Contact Group has decided to give new impetus to our work to guarantee the population a calmer autumn as much as possible," he said at a press conference after a TCG meeting in Minsk on Wednesday, September 6, BELTA reported.
In his words, the TCG's political subgroup's work was focused on the discussion of measures to ensure the special status of the certain areas of Luhansk and Donetsk regions in keeping with the Minsk peace agreements.

The need to protect some facilities of essential infrastructure in the conflict zone was also on the agenda of the Wednesday meeting, he said.
The TCG's humanitarian subgroup continued discussing the swap of prisoners of war.
"As the weather is getting colder, repairs to the approach to the bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska are even more urgent. The sides must come to a common solution in the interests of civilians without implications," Sajdik mentioned another issue on the humanitarian agenda in Minsk.
"Our next meeting will be on September 20," he added.
