Ukraine MFA taking measures to protect Ukrainian journalist detained in Belarus
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA) is taking measures to protect the correspondent of UA: Ukrainian Radio, citizen of Ukraine Pavlo Sharoiko, who has been detained in Belarus, according to Head of Department of Consular Support at the Department of Consular Services of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Vasyl Kyrylych.
"The Foreign Ministry is aware of the detention of a Ukrainian citizen in Belarus. In this regard, the ministry is taking measures to protect the rights of the detained Ukrainian national," the diplomat said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, CEO of the National Television Company of Ukraine Zurab Alasania on Friday reported the correspondent of UA: Ukrainian Radio, citizen of Ukraine Pavlo Sharoiko had been detained in Belarus on suspicion of espionage.
