Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has approved an annual program for the implementation of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration policy.
He signed relevant decree No. 203/2020 on the annual national program under the auspices of the Ukraine-NATO Commission for 2020, the press service of the President's Office said.
It is noted that the program outlines the strategic goal of the reforms, objectives and priority tasks in the framework of the implementation of the Euro-Atlantic integration policy of Ukraine, as well as the state agencies responsible for the implementation of the tasks.
The document is also designed to consistently implement the state's strategic course enshrined in the Constitution towards gaining full membership in NATO.
"Particular attention is paid to the program's compliance with the criteria for NATO membership, the introduction of NATO standards in the security and defense sectors of Ukraine and the strengthening of democratic civilian control. The main emphasis in the program is on the efforts of the state to ensure security and human well-being as a key subject of national security," the press service said.
