The so-called "parliament" of Russian-annexed Crimea says 6.5 million tourists from 159 countries have visited the peninsula this year.

"To date, 6.5 million tourists from 159 countries have visited the 'republic,'" the parliament's press service quoted a "local official" as saying, according to RFE/RL's Russian service.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said over 2 million people had crossed the administrative border with Russian-annexed Crimes since the beginning of 2019.
