Ukraine has received a rapid test system developed in Germany for the 2019-nCoV coronavirus.

"The reagents used in the test system will allow advanced medical diagnostics of the new coronavirus. The kits were developed in Germany with the maximum possible profile to reliably identify the indicated type of the coronavirus," the press service of the Center for Public Health under Ukraine's Health Ministry reported on February 5.

The supply of additional reagents from the World Health Organization (WHO) and procurements at the expense of budget funds are planned in future, it said.

"Diagnostics will be carried out exclusively in cases that meet the epidemiological and clinical definition of the disease, as noted in the WHO recommendations," it added.

As UNIAN reported, Director General of the Ukrainian Health Ministry's Public Health Directorate Andriy Skipalsky earlier announced that the first test system for identifying the 2019-nCoV coronavirus, which was to arrive in Ukraine, would be enough for 25-30 cases.

He also reported there were agreements with the WHO on the supply of additional test systems.
