"According to updates, a total of 260 lab-confirmed deaths from influenza have been recorded since the beginning of the epidemic season, including three children under 17," the report says.
The largest number of the deaths was registered in Odesa region – 40 cases, the capital city of Kyiv reported 30 cases, Cherkasy region 17 cases, Kharkiv region and Donetsk 15 cases each.
According to the Health Ministry, 3.5 million patients with influenza and SARS have been recorded since the beginning of the epidemic season in Ukraine, 9.1% of the population has already been ill.
Of the total number of the cases, 61.3% are children under the age of 17. The highest incidence of influenza and SARS has been recorded in the city of Kyiv (12.9%) and Kyiv region (15.4%). The lowest incidence is registered in Zakarpattia (5.9%) and Kharkiv (3.8%) regions.
