The country's high-ranking officials have already congratulated the citizens on Ukraine's Independence Day. In particular, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman posted his greetings and released a video message on Facebook at around 6:00.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko also conveyed sincere congratulations and wishes to Ukrainians on his Facebook page an hour later.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has congratulated the Ukrainians as well, mentioning the unprecedented reforms in the army in terms of scale and ambition.

Ukraine has also received a congratulation from the World Bank, which prepared a video for Ukraine's Independence Day.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 24, prayers for peace in the state and the Ukrainian people would be performed in all the churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphry.

Some 15,000 officers of the National Police, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, and the State Emergency Service are to maintain law and order in Ukraine during the celebrations on August 23-24. According to Deputy Interior Minister Serhiy Yarovyi, this is due to the possible attacks aimed at destabilizing the situation amid the celebrations.
