Ukrainian authorities are probing into an attack with the use of a Molotov cocktail that was hurled at the building of the Transcarpathian Hungarians Union in the west Ukrainian city of Uzhgorod.

The incident happened after 04:00 Kyiv time on February 4, 2018, TV Channel 112 Ukraine said.

A criminal case is expected to be opened on the same day, the channel said, however, no legal qualification has been announced yet.

Members of the Transcarpathian Hungarians Union have declined to comment, saying that it might be an act of provocation.

The Union's building is located in the very center of Uzhgorod and neighboring buildings have video surveillance cameras. Police are examining related video footage.

As UNIAN reported earlier, an attack on a Polish tourist bus at a parking lot near the west Ukrainian city of Lviv in December 2017 was qualified as a terrorist act.
