The decision to toughen certain measures was adopted by the region's biosecurity commission, Kyiv State Regional Administration's press service said.

Curbs have been re-imposed on mass events (cultural, entertainment, sports, social, religious, advertising ones) in the region. At least 50% of the permanently fixed seats should remain vacant and/or no more than one person per five square meters of the building area is allowed in the places where such events are held.

Also, the opening hours of catering and entertainment establishments are limited. They should not work during any period from 23:00 to 7:00.

The curbs also concern anti-epidemic measures for passengers on public transport, the work of restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as entertainment facilities at night.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Health Ministry was drafting a resolution to extend the lockdown for at least another month. In June, the Cabinet of Ministers published a resolution on the extension of adaptive quarantine until July 31, with updated rules for its observance. The adaptive quarantine means that each region is authorized to ease or tighten restrictive measures depending on the local epidemiological situation.
