Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has listed three regions that are in the lead by the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past day.

"In terms of the regions, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Lviv region (115 cases), Zakarpattia region (86), and the city of Kyiv (77)," he said during an online briefing on July 20, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

In total, 9,080 tests were conducted in the country in the past day. In particular, there were 5,575 tests done with the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 3,505 with the application of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

Stepanov once again called on Ukrainians to comply with the recommendations for preventing incidence, namely to wear face masks, maintain social distance and use antiseptics.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 59,493 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 20. They include 1,498 deaths and 31,439 recoveries. Some 651 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
