Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says 4,853 children and 8,576 healthcare workers have contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19) since the start of the pandemic.
"In the past day, 1,197 people tested positive for the coronavirus, including 72 children and 67 healthcare workers. Some 248 new patients were hospitalized. There were 23 deaths and 760 recoveries," he said at a briefing on July 30.

The overall death toll is 1,673 people.
As many as 38,154 patients have already recovered.
"Speaking per each region, the highest number of confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in the city of Kyiv (199 cases), Lviv region (131), Rivne region (105), and Ivano-Frankivsk region (104)," the minister said.
In total, 31,699 tests were conducted in the country in the past day. In particular, there were 15,494 tests done with the use of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and 16,205 with the application of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.
