Ukraine's authorities on Friday, August 7, said the number of new active COVID-19 cases increased by 1,453 over the past 24 hours.
This marked a new high since the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, as evidenced by the map of COVID-19 spread, compiled by the National Security and Defense Council.
As many as 43,055 patients, including 531 in the past day, have recovered.
In total, 78,261 COVID-19 cases have been detected in Ukraine.
The pandemic has taken 1,852 lives with 33 fatalities recorded over the past day.
Most COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours were recorded in the capital city of Kyiv (186), Odesa region (156), Lviv region (152), Kharkiv region (146), Ivano-Frankivsk region (131), and Rivne region (100).
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine on August 6 reported 1,318 new COVID-19 cases.
