Some 819 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Ukraine in past day – health minister
Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says 819 new laboratory-confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 were reported in Ukraine in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 52,043 as of the morning of July 10.
"In the past 24 hours, 819 people contracted the coronavirus, including 67 children and 65 healthcare workers. Some 214 people were hospitalized. There were 18 fatalities, while 1,016 patients recovered. This is our record for those who recovered," he told a briefing on July 10.
In total, 52,043 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country since the start of the pandemic. They include 3,749 children and 7,213 healthcare workers.
The overall death toll is 1,345 people.
As many as 24,800 patients have already recovered.
