Ukraine's Health Ministry: Kyiv, nine regions not ready for further quarantine easing
Ukraine's Health Ministry says the city of Kyiv and nine Ukrainian regions are not ready for the further easing of the quarantine-related restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus nationwide.
The relaxing of the quarantine is possible if the epidemiological situation in a region meets certain criteria, it said.
In particular, an incidence rate – the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the past seven days per 100,000 people – should be lower than 12. Meanwhile, the incidence in Chernivtsi region is 42.17, it is 40.38 in Lviv region, 40.08 in Rivne region, 36.21 in Zakarpattia region, 34.91 in Volyn region, 22.44 in Ternopil region, 19.92 in Ivano-Frankivsk region, 18.07 in Vinnytsia region, 15.57 in Zhytomyr region, and 13.82 in the city of Kyiv.
The incidence in Kharkiv region is 11.97, which is close to the critical rate.
Moreover, bed occupancy in hospitals designated for COVID-19 patients should be below 50%, while the indicator is 52.71 in Zakarpattia region.
As UNIAN reported earlier, as of 09:00 Kyiv time on June 19, there were 34,984 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine. They included 985 deaths and 16,033 recoveries. Some 921 new cases were recorded in the past day.
