Over 50 towns and villages in Ukraine have reported power cuts after the safety system was activated amid the bad weather, namely rain and strong winds.

In particular, the electricity supply was disrupted in 57 towns and villages in Sumy region, the State Emergency Service's press service has said.

Regional energy distribution companies deployed their repair teams to eliminate the aftermath of the blackouts.

Weather conditions in Ukraine are expected to deteriorate in Kharkiv and Sumy regions on July 15, a storm warning has been issued.
