Russian-led forces widely use proscribed weapons in Donbas with 76 attacks mounted on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the past day.

"Eight Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in action, another three sustained combat-related injuries," the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine's military operations reported on Facebook on Thursday morning.

"In particular, the aggressor used multiple rocket launchers, 152mm artillery systems, 120mm mortars and cannons of tanks in the Luhansk sector to shell [the Ukrainian] positions near the village of Novoluhanske. Also, 152mm artillery systems and 82mm mortars were used by the enemy near the town of Svitlodarsk and 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars and cannons of infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) near the villages of Luhanske and Novhorodske. The village of Zaitseve was attacked with the use of 122mm artillery systems and the village of Troitske with the use of 120mm and 82mm mortars," it said.

In addition, the defenders of the village of Novozvanivka came under fire from 120mm mortars, cannons of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns, while a tank attacked the Ukrainian positions outside the village of Novoselivka, which was also under fire from 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and IFV weapons. The enemy opened fire from small arms near the village of Malynove.

In the Donetsk sector, the enemy resorted to 120mm mortars and grenade launchers, used to shell the village of Verkhniotoretske, Butivka coal mine, the villages of Vodiane and Hnutove.

"The occupation forces also used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms to shell the defenders of Avdiyivka; IFV weapons were used to attack the villages of Talakivka, Bohdanivka and Butivka coal mine; grenade launchers were used near the village of Kamianka, heavy machine guns near the villages of Pavlopil, Hnutove, Slavne, Nevelske, Verkhniotoretske, Pisky, and the town of Krasnohorivka.
