U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker has arrived in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"The U.S. Special Representative has just arrived in Donbas," Voice of America's Ukrainian language service tweeted on May 14.
As was earlier reported, Volker had his mandate extended and expanded. He will have not only the authority to deal with the situation in Donbas, but he will also have broad powers in Ukraine as such.
According to the envoy, he wants to see the situation on the ground and learn more about the humanitarian crisis in Donbas.
