Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 40 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, using weapons banned by the Minsk accords in one instance, with two Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action (WIA).

"The Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Novoluhanske, Luhanske, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne. Along with this, the enemy shelled the Ukrainian positions near Chermalyk, using 80mm mortars," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 18, 2018.

Since Saturday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted four attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Krymske, Lebedynskt, Pavlopil and Shyrokyne.

According to intelligence reports, two enemy troops were killed and another one was wounded.

As UNIAN reported earlier, an OSCE SMM patrol on August 16 came under fire near the village of Holmivskyi located in non-government-controlled area in Donetsk region.
