"During the current day, from 07:00 to 18:00, Russian occupation forces violated the ceasefire 10 times, including once using heavy weapons," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 18:00 Kyiv time on August 18, 2018.

The occupiers opened aimed fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms at the Joint Forces positions near the towns of Zolote and Popasna, as well the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka, Hnutove, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne. In addition, the defenders of the town of Avdiyivka came under 82mm mortar fire.

"The situation in the area of the Joint Forces Operation remains controlled," the press center added.
