Russia's hybrid military forces on Thursday mounted 16 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, with two Ukrainian soldiers reported as killed in action, and another two –as wounded in action.

"Two Ukrainian members of the Joint Forces were killed in action and another two were wounded in action [before Friday midnight]. Each enemy provocation saw an adequate response. According to intelligence reports, one occupier was killed," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on June 7, 2019.

On Thursday, Russian occupation forces opened fire from 120mm mortars, weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, anti-tank missile systems, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and sniper rifles and small arms.

Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the town of Maryinka, as well as near the villages of Opytne, Pavlopil, Vodiane, Chermalyk, and Mayorsk.

"Since Friday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions seven times – near the villages of Pavlopil, Hnutove, Novoluhanske, Travneve, and Zaitseve, using 122mm artillery systems, 120mm mortars, weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, automatic grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Two members of the Joint Forces have been killed and another eight were wounded as a result of shelling. Each enemy attack has had an adequate response. Information on the enemy's losses is being verified," the report said.
