Russia's hybrid military forces on Monday mounted 17 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another three as wounded in action (WIA).

"One Ukrainian serviceman was killed, another three were wounded in action. Each enemy attack saw an adequate response," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 16, 2019.

According to intelligence reports, one occupier was killed and another one was wounded.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces used weapons that are not banned under the Minsk agreements.

Russian occupation forces opened fire from proscribed 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and rifles.

Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, and Popasna, as well as the villages of Vodiane, Shyrokyne, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Luhanske, Novo-Oleksandrivka, and Krymske.

"From Tuesday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions twice near the villages of Opytne and Krymske, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, a heavy machine gun, and rifles. There have been no Ukrainian military casualties [on Tuesday]," the report said.
