Russia's hybrid military forces on Tuesday mounted nine attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with four Ukrainian soldiers reported as killed in action (KIA, and another one as wounded in action (WIA).

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the [recently introduced] indefinite ban on the use of weapons nine times on August 6," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 7, 2019.

Russian occupation forces opened fire from proscribed 120mm mortars, cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Under attack were Ukrainian positions near the villages of Bohdanivka, Pavlopil, Vodiane, Lebedynske, Travneve, and Pivdenne.

According to the update, four Ukrainian soldiers were killed and another one was wounded.

Since Wednesday midnight, Russian-led forces haven't attacked Ukrainian positions yet.

"The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy along the contact line, while adhering to the ceasefire," the report said.
