Russia's hybrid military forces on Thursday mounted nine attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the [recently introduced] indefinite ban on the use of weapons nine times on August 8," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 9, 2019.
The enemy opened fire from grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Under attack were Ukrainian positions near the villages of Bohdanivka, Vodiane, Novotroyitske, Verkhniotoretske, Shyrokyne, Novohryhorivka, Lebedynske, and Novoluhanske.
According to the update, there were no casualties among the Ukrainian military on August 8.
From Friday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions near Lebedynske once, using rifles.
"The Joint Forces reliably control the enemy along the contact line, while adhering to the ceasefire," the report said.
